ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Azteca began his lyrical career in the Chicago poetry scene performing with the best poets in the Midwest area. During this time he was politically and culturally very active in the Latino and Hip-Hop community in Chicago. In 2000 he formed a group call 500 Nations that performed all over the city. The 500 Nations members were IS, Mav and Azteca.

In his new release, First Born, Azteca captures his essence, which is honest and soulful. Aztecas lyrics reflect his Organic Hip-Hop style with roots in the Chicano/Latino culture. Azteca presents his versatility in being able to speak in both English and Spanish and because of this he has the ability to touch newly arrived immigrants, elders and other Latin American countries yet still remain true to the multicultural Hip-Hop crowd of the world. First Born captures an array of emotions and is true to life and introspective. The beats vary from Chicago underground House, Swing, Salsa, Indigenous Aztec music, percussive poetry, Rhythm and Blues and hardcore underground Hip-Hop. “Music is beautiful and beauty is truth. My music is my truth and with my lyrics I share what I have learned in my brief history. I want people to feel good when they listen to my music.” - Azteca
