Baghdad SCUBA Review 'Tests the Waters' of Meaningful Progressive Rock
Madison, WI band comes off jam packed Summer schedule to Release Debut Album
Madison, WI – Road warrior rock band Baghdad SCUBA Review (BSR) has taken its progressive groove to the studio, and is pleased to release its debut album – Testing the Waters – at the High Noon Saloon in Madison, WI on Thursday, October 4th. The acclaimed Madison rock group already boasts an impressive live concert resume, and the sextet of talented musicians is ecstatic to release its first official recording.
“Testing the Waters captures the essence of the BSR live experience in premium, professional quality,” said bassist Erik Riedasch. “Our mission to awaken Americans through music-with-a-message is recorded in crystal clear definition, and now that message can spread beyond our live shows.”
BSR’s impressive live resume includes:
Multiple appearances at Milwaukee’s Summerfest (2006/7), opening for Bob Weir’s Ratdog group this past July
Three years running at the Grateful Garcia Gathering, opening for blues legend Melvin Seals and JGB
Uncountable Madison-area appearances, including The Annex, High Noon Saloon, The Stagedoor at the Orpheum, and Mr. Roberts
Appeared at 9 Outdoor Music Festivals in the summer of 2007 alone, highlighted with opening for 60’s icon Canned Heat at the Atwood Ave Summerfest
In addition, BSR recorded ‘Getting Better’ for WMMM’s Beatles tribute album, and are quickly becoming regulars on My Madison TV 14's Urban Theatre with appearances in April and August of this year.
Testing the Waters is a jampacked seven-song studio album that clocks in a little over an hour. While rooted in rock, the album tests the waters of genres ranging from reggae to rave while injecting political overtones intended to provoke thought. Testing the Waters is available for purchase now via download at www.BaghdadSCUBAReview.com. CD’s will be available at all BSR live appearances starting October 4th.
