As a rule, I don't like country music. But Bailey Michelle Cruthird, who just goes by her first name, is a fantastic singer. She has songwriting skills that defy her young age. Her voice is pure and soothing. Her music is life assuring and uplifting. She reminds me somewhat of Taylor Swift who'm I also love. Hopefully Bailey has another album in the works. Can't wait to hear what else she has in store! And I'll too agree with Doug Morris, that she doesn't have that country accent or "twang" in her voice.

Bailey is a Texas gal but she doesn't sing with much of an accent at all. She has a beautiful, clear soprano voice and has wonderful control of it. Since she's still in her teens, I believe this is a voice we'll be hearing a lot of in the future. There are 11 tracks on the album and Bailey wrote/co-wrote 6 of them, which also speaks well for her future longevity in the music industry. I thought from just reading some of the song titles, that perhaps she had several 'covers' on the album. When I listened to the songs however, I quickly realized that they were not covers but were new songs. Titles like "There's A Good Day Comin'" & "How Do I Say Good Bye" really caught me by surprise when I played them.
My picks for favorites from the album would have to include the aforementioned Good Day song, which has some really humorous lyrics in it: "The engine cuts out and the red lights come on. Looks like it's me and the highway, but this time the car ain't part of the fun. All this and an early heat wave." Most of us have had similar experiences I'm sure. It's only funny later, much later!
My other favorite tracks are the title song "Don't Look Down", "How Do I Say Good Bye", a slow ballad about a cheating man, a medium tempo song "She Can Fly", a real toe-tapper titled "Boys In Boots", and another cute song "What Is Me", which was co-written by one of my favorite songwriters, Lisa Brokop.
My bottom line judgment of this album is that it's an excellent album by a young, new artist with a great voice and loads of talent! I think it would be throughly enjoyed by any fan of contemporary country music and would be a good addition to any country music collection. Good job Bailey!
