Great contemporary jazz
author: Jeff Tennenbaum
Stan, is probably Raleigh-Durham's best kept secret. On the first cut he brings a fresh new interpretation of Wayne Shorter's Footprints and the rest of the songs flow naturally from there. For those that have followed Stan over the last 15 years, his signature sax sound is evident throughout the recording while Stan's longtime bass player Marvin Mumford does an excellent job of perpetuating the smooth groove which works perfectly whether you are just relaxing or if you need something to keep you grooving when you are sitting in a traffic jam. Give this CD a listen, I highly recommend it.
