Album Notes

"Matter of Time" is the debut from singer, songwriter and guitarist Bambi Lee Savage. Included in this eclectic collection of original compositions is a version of "Darlin'", Ms. Savage's contribution to the "Sling Blade" soundtrack. "Darlin'", featuring Daniel Lanois on solo guitar, provides a rare moment of sweetness and light on the CD, which is often dark and reflective.

I wanted to give Matter of Time a good listening before reviewing it. I have been a fan of Bambi Lee based on one song for years. Darlin, of course, made Sling Blade that much better. To remember the music of a great movie, is to remember great music. I have had Matter of time in my car CD player for about three weeks, exclusively, because I do that with music that I believe will continue to reveal it's secrets to those who listen. It is a great collection of ten great songs. I Never See The Sun is so painfully beautiful. The darkness that frames it is answered by the sheer brilliance of the melody itself. To me, it represents so clearly how wonderful music will light the darkest room. Thank you Bambi, for that song. I am so looking forward to your future. Amory

I am currently in Afghanistan, employed by the U.S. Embassy. I have a bootleg copy [a lot of those here] of Slingblade. I have never heard that song before even though I have seen the movie a few times. I had to buy it and send it home to my wife. I think of her every time I hear it . Thanks, Donald Cawthon.
