Album Notes

The late Ochieng' Kabaselleh had over the years crooned his own brothers to join him form two bands - Lunna Kidi which he led and later Bana Kadori led by his brother Barry Odindo Kadori. Bana Kadori retains the distinctive Kabaselleh style while continuosly improving on it with their own unique compositions. The three brothers are the cornerstone of Bana Kadori as a group. The eldest son, Onyango Kadori and the "baby" Odindo Kadori are at home with vocals while Omondi Kadori provides a lovable rhythm guitar works. The band has earned a place in the hearts of serious music fans in Nairobi and beyond. This is their first international release to be followed by many more. If you love Kabaselleh, this is for you!

Don’t miss this gem!
author: Ethan Bloomberg of Virunga Productions
Don’t miss this gem! Intercooler is proof that Benga music, and the Nairobi urban sound found in neighborhood clubs in places like Huruma, is alive and well. From the first note of Mbuya Obanda, right through to the impassioned ballad honoring marehemu Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Intercooler is a celebration of the spirit of Kenyan popular music. You’ll get your money’s worth, too: each song is 8-1/2 to 13 minutes. I’m elated to see this album on CD Baby, and feel privileged to write the first review here. Don’t leave this page without ordering this album! If you like this one, be sure to check CD Baby for other releases on the Equator Heritage Sounds label; you won’t go wrong with any and ALL of them!
