Album Notes

I'm Patrick Lew. Been an Internet musician doing music for a hobby and an independent music career since 1999. Been promoting my musical work online on my computer at home since Napster was BIG NEWS back in 2000. I am a 2004 graduate at Vibo Music Center. I play guitar, sing and write my OWN songs. I love music. It's my passion. Love it! I played in a few local Bay Area bands but they weren't long-term for playing and making music. I also create music on FL Studio and Magix Music Maker on my computer doing Electronica. I mainly do Hard Rock music and my hobbies aside from music are video games, professional wrestling, art, reading and baseball. I am Taiwanese. And I was born in November 1985. I also go to California State University, East Bay for University. Need I say more? I just finished community college and my General Education MORE recently.

This is Patrick Lew's Band. Almost 10 years of an independent music career locally in the East Bay and San Francisco and on my computer promoting music on the Internet for websites like this, you're reading my story on SoundClick! On this music page, you will find mp3 files of music I made from 1999 to today as either a solo musician or with my former rock bands Silent Minister (2000 - 2005) and Band of Asians (2005 to present). This music page was originally the official Band of Asians bootleg website, but due to several complaints from critics on SoundClick and the Internet musicians community. I emailed the Soundclick Staff to change this music page to Patrick Lew's Band because this website contains about 150 FREE tracks I made as an Internet musician and local Bay Area rock star.

The music I created at home or in the recording studio varies in sound and influences. There was a time before Band of Asians where my music was MORE of copying the SoCal pop punk band Blink 182 and being interested in Japanese pop culture and J-Rock music. All those recordings were very primitive because myself or my high school band created that music on a four-track Tascam banging away on our guitars and other musical equipment from the Guitar Hut. When I started playing music and making music and promoting it online at home on the computer, I was heavily influenced by The Beatles, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. But I didn't know how to play my GUITAR very good back then nor was I a good musician or music producer. I followed what was trendy at the time, Blink 182 and Nu Metal bands on MTV such as KoRn and Limp Bizkit. My hobbies/interests in music back wasn't creating sounds of the bands I first got into (which didn't happen until 2007 Band of Asians era in my career) but rather what was TRENDY in the music industry at the time in Rock And Roll.

After 2005 or so, my high school band Silent Minister broke up. And I already grabbed my high school diploma at Wallenberg High School in June 2004 and was off to community college at City College of San Francisco to focus on General Education before transferring to a University at SF State University or California State University, East Bay. By the time my high school band disbanded, I stopped following what was TRENDY in music and expanded my interests in other sounds of music. And I finally upgraded my musical equipment by reading a bunch of magazines like EQ, Recording and Future Music. This meant, I had made the JUMP from recording my musical work on Analog to creating sounds on Digital music creation technology. I also got into Electronica, from my friend and Band of Asians keyboardist Zack Huang. And I realized, the future was in Electronic Music during that time to create something innovative sort of at home or in the recording studio. I also became fascinated by Hip Hop music and culture. Though I don't make Rap music.

What happened in the Band of Asians era of my music career was creating ORIGINAL music. Instrumentals or songwriting. My college band or myself were at my home recording studio on the computer tinkering with PC programs such as FL Studio and Cubase to create new "electronic" sounds with the traditional rock music. The sound of my music in Band of Asians and after as my girlfriend Jenny labels it - Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, Techno (sometimes) and Grunge. Figuring I was fed up with the music industry and the newer rock bands in the media and MTV, I went back to my childhood musical influences. Heavy Metal and 1990s Alternative Rock. And the time was spent on the recording studio rather than playing live events like The Beatles did to make unique music.

What you will also read on Patrick Lew's Band music page on here is a comprehensive story of what made me a musician and why I am still here.

I gone through a lot in my personal life but! Music is my hobby and passionate interest. I don't give a f*** what others even on this music website of SoundClick thinks about my musical work or music career but I do this for non-profit and as a hobby. I don't care about being famous with my music and I want to remain an independent musician in the industry but still want to "make it" as a musician while going to University. You know!

This is the tape vault of recordings I found in a box of tapes and copied CDs of my music. On this page.
