Prepare to have your musical thirst quenched. The Freqs dabble in the whole pallet of genres; Bluesy rock drips away into skull-melting lullabies that pitter-patter like rain into jazz-fusion grooves that inevitably wander off somewhere else altogether.

'Sol Train', the debut album by ‘Band Of Frequencies’, introduced the bands sound to the Californians when they were invited to play at the ‘Cosmic Creek surf festival’ in Salt Creek, Orange County in May 2006, a cosmic trip that had a lasting effect on the band and listeners alike.
The album was mostly recorded at Airlock Studio’s over three days, with additional tracking done at Low Pressure Sound Studio’s in Byron Bay. It also features a track featured in the ‘Life Like Liquid’ surf film by Dave Rastovich (Professional free surfer/Activist) . This album also features one of Australia's finest drummers Terepai Richmond (King Tide, The Whitlems, Missy Higgins, d.i.g), James Cox and Dave Rastovich on percussion.
The record is dedicated to Dylan Clarke with track 5, ‘Dylan’s Wings’ being a highlight of the recording. Dylan and Band of Frequencies lead singer/guitarist Shannon Sol R. Carroll were both children of the same band, their fathers being the rhythm section in ‘Moonstone’ who were legendary resident band at the “Patch” in Coolangatta in the early 70’s. Dylan died tragically at the age of 19, inspiring this soaring dedication to his life and ever continuing inspiration.
Band of Frequencies emerged from the fertile Byron Bay and Brisbane creative communities in 2005 and have been generating a ground swell of support and interest from around the globe ever since.
They draw their influences from a wide spectrum of styles and sounds; roots laden, heavy grooving rock and soul merges into ambient acoustics and electronic influences that then meets blues at the crossroads before moving beyond into to dub styles, psychedelia and live drum'n'bass.
Independently free of any limitations, Band of Frequencies have set their intentions on creating the best sonic tools they can to allow complete expressive freedom to exist within their music.
