Band Together for Peace is a compilation of eighteen Peace songs by seventeen different artists from LA and around the country. The songs represent a diverse range of sounds, including rock, pop, techno, country, reggae, folk-rock and a children's song ("We Believe").
Executive producer Barry Gruber came up with the concept for this CD as a response to his feeling that the airwaves were filled with too much negativity and hatred. He wanted to put peace into our hearts instead.
The artists come from the USA, Canada, South Africa and Ireland. The CD includes Krazy Lyin', Scott Bennett, Deborah Bishop, Patience Worth, Louise Lambert, Songs of Solomon, Fractious and others.
The CD was released on April 27, 2004 at a party in honor of the Month of the Young Child at the LA City Hall. Mr. Gruber was honored at the ceremony, and the Love Tour Resource Guide was also unveiled.
The Band Together for Peace CD has been receiving airplay on several radio stations, including being "hot" added to WPKN, one of CMJ's biggest northeast radio stations.

It breaks the rules; lights the way; raises the bar!
author: Ray Korona
Band Together for Peace is a theme CD that breaks the rules, lights the way and raises the bar. No matter how much I care about a topic, I’ve rarely found a full CD of songs about a single issue or cause that didn’t wear thin by the halfway point. Nevertheless, I think just one listen will convince you that this peace CD has totally overcome the “Curse of the Theme CD.” In this respect, it's an impressive musical accomplishment--as unexpected as the baseball stunner when the Boston Red Sox beat the “Curse of the Bambino” to win the World Series. Band Together does it by combining wonderful music from a wide variety of genres with engaging lyrics that take many different, interesting and entertaining approaches to the CD's peace theme.
Holding a generous 18 songs, the CD also serves as a sampler of the work of a variety of singers and musicians clearly performing at the top of their game. Even more amazingly given the diversity of the material, the tracks have been laid out with such care that they not only match in volume and punch, but flow smoothly from one to another throughout. The CD looks great visually and it sounds even better. Don’t miss this one!
