ABOUT THE CD:
"Banooba's Travels" is the first studio release by Banooba. We worked very hard on this album and have put out an incredible album that we are very proud of. Don't take our word for it... go check it out for yourself!!
We had the pleasure of having some really great musicians lay down some horn and hammond organ tracks. These musicians include:
-Rob Somerville - Tenor Sax (DEEP BANANA BLACKOUT)
-Donnie Celenza - B3 hammond organ
-Jeff Sheloff - Tenor Sax
ABOUT BANOOBA:
BANOOBA, formerly known as THE PROJECT, is an original funk rock band from NY. Each member brings their own unique influence into the groove and adds to the show. Live shows prove to be energetic and spontaneous, and the band is known for playing a impressive live set guaranteed to get you in the partying groove. You never know when you might find Kevin Kershko playing guitar with his teeth, Pete standing up to play the drums or Kevin Torres playing a guitar solo with a drumstick. Ryan and Kevin Sloan are constantly grooving, providing energy for the band and the crowd. As for the rest, come down to see it for yourself!
Banooba has shared the stage with some nationally renowned acts such as:
-Soulive
-The Bomb Squad
-Big Fuzz
-Deep Banana Blackout
-The Zen Tricksters
-Sam Kininger (Soulive)
-Oteil Burbridge and the Peacemakers (Bassist for the Allman Brothers).
-Yohimbe Brothers (featuring DJ Logic and Vernon Reid of Living Colour)
You can also catch Rob Somerville of Deep Banana Blackout playing tenor sax on few tracks of "Banooba's Travels."
QUOTES & REVIEWS:
"There aren't too many young bands out there who can combine solid, original songwriting with tight execution and the ability to stretch without noodling. 'Banooba' does just this. It's refreshing! High energy, bumpin' grooves, solid vocals, and hip hooks for your booty-shakin' pleasure!"
-Bryan Smith, Trombone, Deep Banana Blackout 2004
"...These guys groove like it's their last day on earth, with irresistable songs and wicked musicianship..."
-Good Time Magazine, Dan Brown, January 2004

The Best!
author: Bob Cain
Banooba is the best new band I've heard in a LONG time!
There's not a bad track on this CD, in fact, every song is GREAT! And so many different styles, but all unmistakably Banooba. "Sinora", No Anesthesia", "Chicken Wings", and "Against The Grain" are probably my favorites, but they're ALL killer songs!
I'm really glad I found you guys, and I'm heading over to buy "Nomads...." right now!
Thanks for the great music, guys!

Wow, I can't believe I found you! We can't stop playing the CD. My 8 year old has Sinora on repeat. Finally, after the 4th time, I insisted that we move on. I brought Travels with me to a party and one guest insisted on hearing the beginning because he had missed the first few songs and wanted to "keep it going". I am really looking forward to seeing you live. I hope you will make it out west to Portland Oregon sometime soon. In the meantime, I will continue to spread the word.

"Banooba's Travels": Buy it or else
author: Daryl
Original funk, rock, reggae. Great music, tremendous vocals, really tight band. Buy the CD and see the band at a small club while you can. Otherwise you'll be paying $75 to see them at some huge venue later.

Incredulous, but what else would I expect from Ryan?
author: Shane G
Incredible... Nothing short of, and exactly what I expected from such a talent pool. (While at the same time blowing my mind) One of the better purchases I have made in some time!
