Album Notes

Who is Barbara Cecil?
Singer, songwriter and entertainer.
She's a little bit country and she's a little bit rock n roll!
Barbara wears many hats!
As a songwriter she leans towards country with a twist of pop, rock and blues. The songs she writes most often come from her own personal experiences or the experiences of the friends and people around her. Barbara sometimes jokes to her friends that they should be careful about what they do or say around her cause you'll never know when you'll wind up in the next song. Writing songs about everyday relationships and trying to point out the humor to make you laugh, or tell a story that triggers an emotional response is what makes Barbara want to write music.

As a vocalist, Barbara has a powerful voice with a dynamic range packed with emotion and energy that comes straight from her heart. Having been compared to such great artists as Linda Rondstadt, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis and LeAnn Rimes, you will witness the many vocal styles she is capable of when you see a Barbara Cecil show or a Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts show. As well as singing her originals, Barbara also covers many other artist songs. Whether she's belting out a hard and edgy tune like Wynonna (No One Else on Earth), working in a yodel like LeAnn Rimes (Cowboy Sweetheart), or holding on to a high falsetto (Unchained Melody) you won't mistake her for anybody else as she has the ability to make every song her own.

As an entertainer Barbara steals the show! She is a polished performer with stage presence and delivery as big as the great outdoors. Cecil entertains and struts yet her humanity emanates out to the audience. She makes strangers into friends and friends into fans. Barbara has the image of a country style beauty queen but shows the audience that she is a real live girl, not just an image. She lacks the vanity of a pseudo star; Cecil is approachable and pleases audiences with her voice as well as her looks.

IN 1994 Barbara started singing as a solo performer at state and county fairs throughout the Pacific Northwest performing her favorite kind of music, country. Anything from Patsy Cline to Shania Twain.
Wanting to be taken more seriously Barbara started working with several local country bands, and writing her own music, in 1998 she opened for national recording artist Chris LeDoux and self released her first CD titled, Big Trouble Now". In 1999 Barbara Started "The Barbara Cecil Band and performed for one season.
In November of 2000, Barbara joined a nine piece 50s and 60s rock n roll show band called "Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts", as their only female singer, singing leads and backup harmonies. June 2005 Barbara released her second solo CD "Roadhouse Angels". This Original Country music
CD showcases Barbara's songwriting skills as well as giving the listener a variety of country music styles, from Country rock to traditional country. Barbara will be releasing her third solo album in late 2005. This CD titled "Remember When" will take the listener back to the Golden era of the 50's 60's and 70's, covering some of the greatest female artists of all time.
Barbara's next project will be a christmas CD to be released in 2006.
