My CD, CHAPTERS is my first release. It is a compilation of songs that I have written over the last 3 years. It is strictly acoustic- just me and my guitar. "Saving My Love", features the cello, which really makes the song beautiful. This song was originally written by my father, Jimmy Barbee. He wrote it while my mother was pregnant with me (I was the first child) and it really means a lot to me. The other songs on this CD are things that I have experienced and some that I have only imagined.
Music has become my passion and I love to perform live. I have mostly played at local festivals and coffee shops, but hope to broaden my audience with this CD. My dream is to inspire people with my music and be respected as an artist.

Not your average Barbee

how do say this and not sound like a Chauvinistic pig...? Im a huge fan of singer/ songwriters, and most of the time I find myself listening to male musicians, perhaps because Im a guy and can relate...but Its great to come across Vanessa, she's a perfect fit for the music style that i like. So its refreshing to come across a female that I enjoy as much as anybody else. Great work-look forward to hearing more!
