ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since we started the Brobdingnagian Bards in 1999, Andrew and I talked about releasing a Christmas CD. I mean, c'mon everyone does it!

But there's one small problem...
THE MUSIC!

Every year, Christmas music gets worse and worse. They play the same ten songs, all rehashed in the same fashion.

There's nothing new.
There's nothing original.
The styles. The instrumentation.
It's all the same.

Aren't you too sick and tired of the stereotypical Christmas music? You know what I'm talking about. They have drums in the "Little Drummer Boy" or bells in "Carol of the Bells".

Bah humbug! Who needs that when you have an autoharp, a recorder and a couple of daft Celts who add a huge helping of fun to everything they do, while still keeping it beautiful.

Instead of releasing a full-length album full of unoriginality, we decided to record stuff that WE love. Because if we love it and have fun with it, you will too.

To do that we took a few of our favorite traditional songs. Then we wrote a song together and of course, butchered an old classic ala "Love Actually".

What's that make?

A fun, original and beautiful Christmas EP that will become a regular of your annual Christmas CD disc changer every year.

Stuff your stockings with Brobdingnagian Bards this year... Okay, the stockings may rip because we're too big, but how about the CD then?

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM BROBDINGNAG!!!

An excelent substitute for the same old christmas songs!
I picked up this CD so that when Christmastime rolled around I would have a few new songs to listen to. I threw it on the playlist at work, and recieved nothing but praise for it. Although the first time that anyone hears Carol of the Bells without any bells, or Little Drummer Boy without a drum... Let's just say that I got some strange looks.

Fun Bards Xmas music
A Christmas CD from the Brobdingnagian Bards who are always great live in Concert.

Bog Down in Christmas is a parody of Bog Down in the Valley which they have fun with on this CD. They play it like they normally do Bog. (Getting faster during the song and with their usual comments.)

I do plan to add this CD to my holiday play mix. (It also made a great stocking stuffer this year and holiday grab bag item at work.)

Stuffed ALL my stockings...
Loved the CD (though I did wax nostalgic about the Bells...lol) I stuffed ALL my stockings with it this year, buying one for each family on my list. You should too! CHRISTMAS TIME IN TEXAS...what can I say? ;)

I am not going to wait till christmas
I know, I got the CD 5 months early, but I could not wait till Christmas to listen to it. Nice to listen to, even in the summertime!
