Barica Horner, the daughter of a Baptist minister, is the youngest of six children born and raised in Memphis, TN. All she’s ever known growing up is “church”, grounded spiritually and sustained prayerfully. She has utilized her astounding vocal gift since the age of 7. Her first song she sang was “I Don’t Know What Makes the Raindrops Fall”. You could always find her, then and even now, in Sunday school, morning & evening worship, Bible study and revivals most of the time.

Barica, a composer of music, poetry and musical plays, a musician (pianist in her earlier years), businesswoman, a wife and mother is a living testimony of how God can use you for His Glory. Although she loves all genres of music, Barica says “Singing God’s praises expresses what I feel. I always find myself entering into His presence, an atmosphere where ‘God is my audience’. I love the Lord with all my heart and I so passionately desire others to see and feel Him as I do.” Her quiet, humble spirit enhances her gift greatly. Those who know Barica know how serious she is about what she does for Christ. Barica has often been called a story teller with her anointed ability to paint a picture as she ministers through songs.

Barica has shared stages with great legends such as John P. Kee, Evangelist Shirley Caesar, Joe Ligon & The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s, Shaun Pace, The Canton Spirituals, William Murphy and the Williams Brothers, to name a few. She was also privileged to perform for a special occasion for B.B. King.

Barica is greatly inspired by Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Evelyn Turntine-Agee, Evangelist Betty Griffin-Keller and Abertina Walker. She was part of a local group, The Angels of Harmony, which consisted of two of her sisters for over 20 years. She sings for conferences, revivals and other church events on a regular basis.

Barica is married to Patrick Horner and they have two beautiful children, a son 18 and a daughter 11, all of which are musically blessed as well. Barica loves to praise God with her gift because, “He’s worthy to be praised, regardless of what you may be going through. He is so good to me!” In September 2007, Barica’s CD debut entitled “Barica, Blessed To Be a Blessing”, on PB Productions label, was released to the world! She hopes this diverse, anointed CD encourages, inspires, uplifts, gives every listener hope and is a blessing to ALL!
