Barney Saltzberg is a childrens' book author, illustrator and singer/songwriter (Dad and carpool chauffeur!). Barney was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has written and illustrated many books for children including Mrs. Morgan's Lawn (California Young Reader Medal 1999 nomination); His Animal Kisses, Baby Animal Kisses and Peekabook Kisses are all Book of the month main selections. Barney's book, The Soccer Mom From Outer Space; is a Junior Library Guild Selection 2000 and also a California Young Readers Medal nominee for 2003). Barney Saltzberg has performed concerts for children everywhere from Disneyworld to schools and libraries, bookstores and children's hospitals across the country. His songs have been recorded by Shari Lewis for Charlie Horse Music Pizza and on episodes of the PBS hit show, Arthur. Barney has also written songs for the two Arthur and Friends C.D's. Barney Saltzberg lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two children, along with a menagerie of animals, including three dogs and a school of fish and a frog.
