Crazy Hair Day is based on Barney’s children’s book of the same name published by Candlewick Press. The book was inspired by a boy reluctant to return to school after losing his hair from chemotherapy. He is elated to find a group of friends have shaved their heads to welcome him back. Mr. Saltzberg book is an uplifting story of a hamster who shows up a day early for ‘Crazy Hair Day’. The book has inspired Crazy Hair Day celebrations in cities across the country, fundraisers for children’s’ museums, a book reading on the White House Lawn for the annual Easter Egg Roll, and now, a Crazy Hair Day CD capturing the spirit of the book.
