“The Barry Sisters Sing” was the first album recorded by the Barry Sisters. It proved to be the most popular of all their hit albums, and was an international hit in Jewish communities throughout the world.
The Sisters created a style of singing that was to be emulated by artists ranging from the Andrew Sisters to Bette Midler, and are by far, the most popular Yiddish artists in the world.
This 13 song CD consists of the original 12 Classic Yiddish songs, PLUS a bonus track,sung in English, “Intrigue” from the Robert Mitchum film, “Foreign Intrigue”. The introduction to the booklet was written by the legendary Blues singer, Linda Hopkins,who credits The Barry Sisters as the greatest influence on her performance style. Included are vintage photos and biographical information that has never been published before.
