Album Notes

Debra Barsha won the 2002 Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award for the score to Radiant Baby, which was produced at the Public Theater, NYC in 2003, directed by George C. Wolfe. Radiant Baby received 3 Lucille Lortel nominations including Outstanding Musical. Composer credits include: Sophie (Jewish Repertory Theater), NBC's Policewoman Centerfold soundtrack, and her one-woman show Go To Your Womb. Barsha has won an ASCAP Popular Songwriter's Award each year from 1995-2002 and has had her songs recorded by George Clinton, Jackie Mason and Marty Balin among others. She has recorded with Bootsy Collins, Dave Stuart, Patti Austin, Thomas Dolby, George Clinton and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Her own CDs, Women in Windows and Barsha Raw! (Live at Ars Nova) were also recently released. Barsha played keyboards and sang on Thomas Dolby's Flat Earth Tour and performed roles in the original off-Broadway companies of both Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding and Swingtime Canteen. Her children's musicals, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Emperor's New Condo (with Maggie Harth) have been performed annually in schools throughout the country. Currently, her music can be heard in New York Theater Workshop's Songs From an Unmade Bed.
