Album Notes

Bart has been doing this for some time now. In the 80's he led the Dharma Bums,in the 90's Naked Lunch Box. Now he's solo, though he still has a band playing with him. What's remained constant is good song-writing, witty, melodic pop- rock. Some people hear a Beatle influence, which would make sense considering the years he spent listening to no one else,on his parent's hi-fi, But then they broke up, (the Beatles not his parents)and he had to seek out new sonic pastures.

There was a brief flirtation with British progressive and even glam rock but Bart quickly found the classic singer-songwriters: Neil Young, Van Morrison, and Bob Dylan (let's not forget Bob Dylan!-a perennial favorite) But Bart does not live on bread alone. There was the pre-punk Patti Smith, the punk Buzzcocks, the sorta punk Elvis Costello, the post-punk XTC, the Replacements. All told, too many to mention. Why did I start? I can't go on. I must go on.What I'm trying to say is that Bart Caruso has spent the best years of his life listening to good songs, now he'd like you to listen to some of his own. Thank you.

REVIEWS

author: Deb
The descriptions are true ... there IS a hint of The Beatles in these songs ... but when you try to pin down exactly what it was that reminded you of the Fab Four ... it's gone! This is beautiful music with strong melody lines, great guitars and good vocals. Don't miss it!
