With the debut of OLD SOMBRERO, Rob Barteletti matches his wide-ranging talents as a singer-songwriter with the savvy skills of some of Portland's best musicians. Rob's music stretches from pop to folk to reggae to country crossover to rock & roll; and his band, led by producer-arranger Dan Decker, drives these finely crafted songs.

In the words of Portland author and sometimes music critic Brian Doyle, whose essays on Van Morrison and Australian Paul Kelly have appeared in the renowned journal The American Scholar, "Rob Barteletti delivers a grizzled, smoky, pebbly, grainy, gritty, seasoned, growly, amused, patient, openhearted, open-eyed, rueful, gentle, merciful, prayerful, winking, wincing, storyteller's voice, singing songs hauled kicking and mewling new from his salty soul; and the music's damn fine too."
