Album Notes

"Midnight" is the exciting new release from New York City's Baskervilles. The CD contains 7 freshly recorded tales, following the lovelorn adventures of today's urban bohemians. Trust the Baskervilles to deliver absorbing pop based on whirlwind lifestyles. This release builds upon the band's existing sound, adding new textures with nods and winks to the best underground new wave and indiepop bands of the late 70s and early 80s

"Midnight" also features the first ever cover songs recorded by the Baskervilles: "La Grande Illusion" originally by the Television Personalities and "Pictures Of You" originally by the Bartlebees.

"Midnight" is the follow-up to the band's successful self-titled debut, released on Secret Crush Records in early 2004.

Roots and Influences:
Television Personalities, Monochrome Set, The La's, Belle & Sebastian, Bartlebees, The Kinks, Tables, Chills, Cure, Clientele, Apples In Stereo, Lee Hazelwood, Nancy Sinatra

Not as Good
author: Dana
It wasn't terrible, but I loved the Baskervilles' first CD, and this one was kind of disappointing. It just doesn't have the same great sound.

This band continues to amaze me! "Midnight" is a great follow-up to the absolutely essential first Baskervilles CD. Theis new group of songs is as catchy as can be, and I really think this will be one of my favorite releases of 2005! OK, need to go study more... Enjoy, Em...

This is outstanding! The songs are really catchy. It reminds me of REALLY good 80s pop mixed with Belle and Sebastian.

Fab EP

This is not a Baskervilles album, but more of an EP or mini album with 2 covers. Although I miss some of the softer pop from their first album, these are some of the best pop songs I've heard in years from any band!
