“More Than Islands” – the first release by Bass Lions is a short EP the band recorded immediately following the breakup of Brampton-based phenomenon “Reily”, a band both Nathan Stretch (Vocals) and Anthony James (Drums) played, recorded, wrote and toured in for two years. While the EP does not reflect back on the previous band’s breakup directly, it is unavoidably moody and not without its transitional tone; it takes the listener from one place to another and back again, like going on a journey which cycles back on itself repeatedly, taking the listener to a different place each and every time. It is Bass Lions’ first statement into the Canadian music scene and it sets the stage for their LP, expected out in the first half of 2008.

The sounds on more than islands are a mix of indie rock and pop, with a enough sonic experimentation to keep the listener finding new material on each and every listen.
