While You Wait
Says Bay Chandler, "I have always wanted to be everything in my songs and on stage...in your face, on your couch, washing your dishes." And this remark-better than any bio, clearer than any photograph-explains what this thiry-something, Alabama-born singer/songwriter is all about. Not looking to become the next big thing, not attracted by the assmebly line disposable musical fads, Chandler instead has targeted the hearts and minds of regular people gamely living out their lives in all corners of this country. Without knowing them -yet somehow understanding so much about them -Chandler writes and sings irresistible slices of truth, in all its warm, sad, funny, heartbreaking, angry, chaotic, and beautiful forms. Stylistically, Chandler falls somewhere between the earnest American rock of Tom Petty and the wry, mysterious storytelling of Tom Waits. His melodies are individually his own and yet feel immediately familiar and comfortable. Matt Cheplic (2004)

"When we wrapped up "While you Wait" I sent several copies to some Fan's and Friend's, I was curious what there thoughts would be, because my Fan's and Friend's don't sugar coat anything, anyway, when I started getting calls with the manliest of men, crying on the other end of the phone, and the sweetest of young ladies ready to rise up and start a revolution no matter what the cause, all I could think was that no matter, what happens to this CD ("While you Wait") I had succeeded in getting inside the heart's and mind's of the Richest of the Rich and the Poorest of the Poor, and the dreams I had as a young songwriter, Dreams of simply wanting to vicariously spend a little time in everybody's life- had finally started to come true when I least expected it."
