bj blue and the Cadillac Cowboys are the latest CRAZE in Texas. They are serious about this business of music. Collectively bj and the boys have written songs for the likes of John Michael Montgomery, Earl Thomas Conlee, Emmylou Harris, Buck Owens, Gene Watson, Don Gibson, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Terri Clark and Alan Jackson among many many other huge country stars. Now they have collectively directed that talent toward the group and are cranking out the hits for bj blue and the Cadillac Cowboys. bj coined the phrase "country that rocks your soul" and they define that succinctly with each and every song delivered in this collection.
Though it might not be fair to say that bj has mellowed, he has definitely matured. Rather than taking countrified potshots at the political scene, he exchanges big city bluster for a tone of wry bemusement on "Cross-Eyed Cricket" and "Love's Killin' Me". Two "good ole boy songs" with that "twang thang" if there ever was one.
After flexing his muscles with the album-opening title track, which sets bj's musical autobiography to the trademark groove of Hank's "Hey Good Lookin'", bj showcases the more subtle side of his vocal artistry on "You'll Find Me In Memphis" (inspired by the Delta-Land-Cotton-Soul of a bygone era) and the ever haunting "Destination Blue" (wrought with emotional depth and introspective soul). For those of you who still like a good slow dance. You'll know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em on these monsters.
When you're ready to crank it up and get wild there's at least six or eight others that are definitely in a honky tonk state of mind "Somebody Must've Been Cheatin' On Hank", Walk A Mile In My Shoes, "Barhoppin" and a couple that are just plain fun, fun, fun "Cowboys Will Be Cowboys" and "Love Malnutrition. There's somethin' here for everybody ....
CRANK IT UP LOUD!!!! AND TAKE ONE HOME.

There's not much left to say after listening to this CD except "Wow! Just what I've been looking for". There are several tunes on here that could be hits on the radio and not a clunker in the bunch. These guys know what they're doin' and just how to do it ... BIGTIME!

I am truly captivated by the variety of Country Music on this
CD and the way it is presented. Many many styles lay hidden in the backing tracks on this CD. There's a little bit of Hank in there somewhere, Lynyrd Skynyrd no doubt, Travis Tritt, and maybe the Allman Bros too. bj blue and the Cadillac Cowboys are high on my "Hits" list. I am well impressed with this CD and trust you will be too!
