My musical journey has been long and adventurous. I've always been drawn to and moved by music, and I began teaching myself and playing at age 14. My fans have always responded fervently, but I never had the courage to pursue a career in music...until recently.
After earning a master's degree in clinical psychology and being a mental health therapist for several years, I found that, while my job was rewarding in many ways, my creative happiness was suffering horribly. I felt this push from an unnameable force to learn as much as I could about being a "DIY" musician and just go for it. So I'm going for it.
Success is such a subjective experience, but I found during my journey that wanting something more than anything-or having a dream-can stifle the goal-making process because it can seem impossible. Once I forced myself to try to quantify what success might mean to me, things became so simple and clear. I found that, to me, success is more spiritual fulfillment than it is the stereotype of "living like a rock star". I decided that if I can work hard enough to live as well as I could as a therapist, then that is success enough. I realized that with organized hard work, it is possible to follow a dream.
So about my songs...
A friend of mine said that my songs are intimate pieces, written as if for just two people, but sung as if for two thousand. While my songs are personal reflections, it makes me happy to hear that others can connect with and relate to them. That's one of the best qualities of music, I think...its ability to inspire emotion and bring people together.
My fans stood beside me and waited patiently for a very long time for me to release my first album and I'm very proud and happy to be able to offer it to them...finally. And I'm excited for the next trip on my journey...going on the road and conenecting with more fans.
I chose to make a stripped-down, bare-bones debut so that it is as true to what you would hear when seeing me live as possible. All songs are written, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by me, and I hope you enjoy them. Thank you for visiting my cdbaby page, and feel free to visit my website at www.bobbearfield.com to say hi or check out my tour calendar. And please say "hi" if you see me on the road. It is my mission to make as much time as possible for the people who I truly could not do this without...my fans!!
Thank you for supporting independent art!!!
P.S. When you order my CD, it will not come to you wrapped because I unwrap and sign each one before sending it to CD Baby.
