We have been several months gathering music and info to include with this cd project. We wanted to make our deadline of Feb, 3, 2008, which we have done, making it a true memorial album to the music that died 49 years ago, on that date in that tragic plane crash. The Bopper's son, Jay P. Richardson was highly instrumental in the creation of this collection, and without his help and permissions, it could not happen... This has every known recording by the Bopper. J. P. Richardson who was killed along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens on Feb. 3, 1959, while doing the "Winter Dance Party", which The Bopper Jr., Jay P. Richardson still does every year.

Forefathers of Rock & Roll
author: Cynthia L. Bitto
Yes, I received my CD, J.P. Richardson/ Big Bopper and I love it! (.."Yea baby, thats what I like!!")
It arrived while I still had the echoes of J.P's own performance of his Dad's songs in "John Mueller's Winter Dance Party - 50th Anniversary Tour", at Kenosha, Wisconsin ( One of the original tour ballrooms back in 1959 ) Madrigano Marina Shores Club ( formerly The Eagles Ballroom ) on January 21, 2009 ( If you haven't seen the Winter Dance Party 50th Anniversary Tour, you missed a real treat!!! If you respect the forefathers of Rock and Roll.. Its a great CD that J.P. made available for CDbaby,
And I would recommend everyone listen to it and let the roots of Rock and Roll echo in your own ears!!! 28 tracks, some never before heard. Its something you will be proud to own and add to your collection.
I also enjoyed the confirmation note that I received right after making my order. One last comment, Big Bopper was recently recognized as the innovator of the music video, but his name has not yet been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, can you believe that after all these years?
If you would like to see his innovation of the music video added to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, please take a minute and send a letter to:(no emails)
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation

Lets see this finally happen, its long overdue!!!
Thanks again CDbaby, and all the best,
Cindy Lou Bitto
