Big Country Bluegrass delivers their own style of authentic, hard-driving bluegrass that makes them crowd favorites wherever they perform from
festivals and concerts across this country to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. With more than two decades of experience under their belts, the band offers the very best in traditional bluegrass music and have created their best album yet…… ”Open For Business”. This project presents a new energy and is their first release with Mountain Roads Recordings of Bristol, Tennessee. “Open For Business” is a combination of old standards, traditional favorites, a new song by Tom T. & Dixie Hall, “All That’s Left”, and two original songs by Jeff Michael, “This Time I’ve Learned” and “Back Stop”.
The Band is entering its twenty-second year in the business and this album demonstrates their outstanding musicianship and vocals. Each member possesses a unique style that, when combined, comes together in a performance that is their very best yet !
High Alleghenies, written by Grady Bullins, features the lead vocals of Jeff Michael along with high baritone by Teresa Sells and tenor by Johnny Williams. This song also showcases beautiful harmonies by the group and is curently at #23 on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Chart for December 2008 and #4 for the Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 30 for November 2008.
All That’s Left, is a Tom T. & Dixie Hall original and was featured on a recent release of a compilation of songs by these great songwriters. Lead and baritone vocals are performed by Jeff Michael with tenor by Teresa Sells.
The title of the album, “Open For Business” should also carry the Warning Label that this album could be habit-forming according to Tom Henderson of "This Is Bluegrass"!
Open for Business is #14 on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 15 albums for December 2008.
