His name represents underestimated talent. “It’s about those collaborations with unknown artists that get released on the “B” side of a hot single,” said B-Cide.

Since 1998 B-Cide has dedicated his life to his passion for making music. Born and raised in Utica, New York, B-Cide lives and breathes for the art. What started as just him and his friends messing around for fun evolved into his life passion. “I really can’t think of anything else most of the time,” said B-Cide. “Music is my life.”

Pop in his new CD, “The Self-Proclaimed King,” and his distinct, raspy voice grabs the listener’s attention from the intro. “I guess it is kind of like if Lil’ Jon had a white kid from Utica,” B-Cide joked. “I don’t know how to describe my sound it’s just me”

Master P, C-Murder, Ludacris and David Banner are inspirations of B-Cide and their influence comes across in his rhymes. “I don’t try to be like anyone. Most of my inspiration comes from life in general but I do listen to a lot of Southern music,” said B-Cide.

B-Cide’s new album features 20 tracks and three bonus cuts. It is a mix of horror-core rap, club beats, and sentimental rhymes about life lessons and growing up in a broken home. “I will write about my mom having a bad day at work and then some shit about shooting a cop,” said B-Cide. “I don’t stick to one particular style. If I’m feeling a certain vibe from a beat I just get something in my head. I’ll lay down a track that is all fact and then one like ‘I didn’t kill this bitch,’ which just tells some crazy story that is a 100 percent escape from reality.”

“The Self-Proclaimed King” is B-Cide’s second solo album. “I am continuously evolving and I think my first album, ‘Upstate Madness: Welcome to Utica’ (2003) was a little more angry,” said B-Cide. “The new one is more in-your-face. Ya’ll are gonna know I am the king and I’m dropping my mic in the middle of the city.”

B-Cide has dropped numerous mix-tapes including 2006’s “Fuck The Haters ‘The Mix Tape,’ and 2003’s compilation with other local artists, “The Big East.” The mix tapes are getting plenty of street credibility and B-Cide even got personal props from C-Murder's record label, TRU Records for a remix he did on the rapper’s latest video.

B-Cide has performed in New York City, Ohio, New Orleans and Michigan. “Performing is where it is at,” said B-Cide. “I will perform for one or 100,000 people, it is what I do. If I get that chance I am gonna rule the world.”

B-CIDE features long time partner, SHYSTY on this album, not only rapping but producing beats for the album. Not only will label mate SHYSTY be on the album, but X-KAL will be featured as well, not only rapping, but
producing a majority of beats for the album. B-CIDE will be featuring
hometown rappers from BRICK MONEY ENT. - G.A. & R. DOLLAZ for a little more of that East Coast flavor. B-CIDE also has a feature with the infamous and controversial West Coast Bay Area Horrorcore rapper MARS which is sure to leave an impact a listener will not soon forget. Adding a little R&B flavor to the album is EastSide Productions own JAMES MEENAN who really brings an amazing hook to the track I DON'T KNOW which is about a lost love of B-CIDE's.

Amazing CD
I bought this disc from B-CIDE himself recently and just came across this from his web site. Every track on this album is solid, all the beats are dope and the rhymes are crazy. I can play this album from front to back and not skip a track, it knocks all the way through!!! If you buy 1 rap CD this year, buy this album, it was worth every penny I spent on it. A couple stand out tracks are, THIS AIN'T NOTHIN TO ME, RIGHT HERE, AND THE MEDIA. I also loved that mellow track I DON'T KNOW, at first I was not sure, but I listened all the way though and DAMN! EVERYONE SHOULD OWN THIS CD!!!!

The Fact that this album isn't being sought after by everyone from the south to the east to the west shakes my faith in the Hip Hop community. GET THIS CD!

The Last Unicorn News Letter

Local MC

Ok, I am NOT an English major, I'm REAL TIRED and I am not the normal review guy but B-Cide wanted my opinion *and I didn't wanna die* so here it goes.

He's not into giving you an intro worth mentioning but when the horns finally hit, you know that this is above your average LOCAL MC. The second thought that might cross your mind, especially if you haven't heard him before, is "Does lil' Jon know his brother is a big white dude from Utica NY?!?" His voice is gritty, heavy, and like a precision punch.. B, sounds like a displaced southern MC and could easily fit on Master P's roster..
P? ... you reading??

One thing I love right from the start, B-Cide IS on time. His vocal track slaps on the 4/4 as we pound through 'Self Proclaim King' (track 2) and he sets you up for the next 21 tracks.

"Stomp Stomp" gets you thinkin' of the video, that hasn't been made, where the camera shakes as he stomps... and well, B-Cide's a big dude so the camera man WOULD have a challenge if they ever got to make it.

"I Didn't Kill This Bitch" is a crazy little narrative about a heavy kid who gets lucky but the night goes terribly wrong. He does it right, it conjures a great tale and even plugs his place of employment on the way. *big ups to Subway*

"Y'all came here to party" is funny and by the way, he can rock it all night and he let's ya know!

B-Cide & Shysty come in boastin on the track "You know you want in" and if this disc pops 'em, they will.

On "Them Boys Don't Like Me" B-Cide finds there IS people in the Utica area to rhyme with. Brick Money and B tear through the song, rep the U and state the facts. They know there are many haters in such a small city but now, it doesn't matter.

"Quit your Yappin" addresses how people talk behind your back. B-Cide chalks this up to envy "I got love for these people, I got love for these people, but still I'm a threat, so I'll never be equal". You know, he could be right.

"The Media" talks about.. well... the media! More importantly, it discusses how they portray gangster rap and horrorcore as the cause behind violent crimes and youth gone wild. This is done in a very sarcastic way... kinda sick, but true.

"Boy.. I'm tired, do I have to finish B??" "Yeah I wanna live... how about a summary??

Is this the end??? HELLZ NO!! There are 24 tracks on the CD, 21 of 'em are full songs!! Like:

"My Life's F*$#@# Up"

this record is the shit
i've been a huge fan of b-cide since i first heard his songs on soundclick a few years back. i dubbed him the king of the soundclick the first time i ever heard his music. the first thing you'll notice when you hear b-cide is his raspy, hard voice. the second thing you'll notice is this boy knows how to ride a track. once he gets goin its like a freight train on the trax goin full out. last but not least b-cide always comes correct with serious beats. as far as his new record "the self proclaimed king", i think i named him king way before he did, but thats another story. this record is dope. it has 23 bangin ass tracks and none of em are crappy. my personal favorite is called "yall came here to party" which is a great party anthem, also look out for a sick duet he does with the underground king of cali "mars" called "media", that shit is off the hook. b-cide and his partner in rhyme "shysty" are set to take on the world with this new release. so cop it while you can cause this record wont be on the shelves for very long.

b-cide may be from new york, but he coulda easily been born and raised in the dirty south. his flow is too dope for words, buy this album today, then thank me.

This may look like your average CD, but it isn't. It is the most original CD I have heard in the Millenium.(NO JOKE!!) B-Cide will blow up, so it would be a wise investment to get a copy of this. Soon B-Cide won't be getting 5 stars on CDbaby soon he will be getting 5 nutts in Murder Dog, and XXL in XXL.

Silent Killa

This CD kills it, from start to finish!!! Not a dull moment! Everyone should own this CD!!! If your a fan of good underground music, u need to pick this up!! No one should be without this disc!!!!!

I was worried when I first saw the CD, the cover kinda looked like a No Limit Records release from back in the day, but I figured I would take a shoot at it, damn, I'm glad I did, this dude can spit. I have never heard any other rapper like him, he kills it!!!! Every track is fire and everyone needs to hear this!

Murderious Juggalo

B-Cide murders it!!! The best rapper in NY!!!!!! I'm glad I bought this B, thanks for the promos and shit!!! I'm lookin foward to your next release!!! But for now this is the shit!! I can't believe how dope this sounds, you have a great style and you can do any kinda track, the track with MARS is off the chain!!! I'm tellin all my Juggalo homies about this!!!
