His name represents underestimated talent. “It’s about those collaborations with unknown artists that get released on the “B” side of a hot single,” said B-Cide.
Since 1998 B-Cide has dedicated his life to his passion for making music. Born and raised in Utica, New York, B-Cide lives and breathes for the art. What started as just him and his friends messing around for fun evolved into his life passion. “I really can’t think of anything else most of the time,” said B-Cide. “Music is my life.”
Pop in his new CD, “The Self-Proclaimed King,” and his distinct, raspy voice grabs the listener’s attention from the intro. “I guess it is kind of like if Lil’ Jon had a white kid from Utica,” B-Cide joked. “I don’t know how to describe my sound it’s just me”
Master P, C-Murder, Ludacris and David Banner are inspirations of B-Cide and their influence comes across in his rhymes. “I don’t try to be like anyone. Most of my inspiration comes from life in general but I do listen to a lot of Southern music,” said B-Cide.
B-Cide’s new album features 20 tracks and three bonus cuts. It is a mix of horror-core rap, club beats, and sentimental rhymes about life lessons and growing up in a broken home. “I will write about my mom having a bad day at work and then some shit about shooting a cop,” said B-Cide. “I don’t stick to one particular style. If I’m feeling a certain vibe from a beat I just get something in my head. I’ll lay down a track that is all fact and then one like ‘I didn’t kill this bitch,’ which just tells some crazy story that is a 100 percent escape from reality.”
“The Self-Proclaimed King” is B-Cide’s second solo album. “I am continuously evolving and I think my first album, ‘Upstate Madness: Welcome to Utica’ (2003) was a little more angry,” said B-Cide. “The new one is more in-your-face. Ya’ll are gonna know I am the king and I’m dropping my mic in the middle of the city.”
B-Cide has dropped numerous mix-tapes including 2006’s “Fuck The Haters ‘The Mix Tape,’ and 2003’s compilation with other local artists, “The Big East.” The mix tapes are getting plenty of street credibility and B-Cide even got personal props from C-Murder's record label, TRU Records for a remix he did on the rapper’s latest video.
B-Cide has performed in New York City, Ohio, New Orleans and Michigan. “Performing is where it is at,” said B-Cide. “I will perform for one or 100,000 people, it is what I do. If I get that chance I am gonna rule the world.”
B-CIDE features long time partner, SHYSTY on this album, not only rapping but producing beats for the album. Not only will label mate SHYSTY be on the album, but X-KAL will be featured as well, not only rapping, but
producing a majority of beats for the album. B-CIDE will be featuring
hometown rappers from BRICK MONEY ENT. - G.A. & R. DOLLAZ for a little more of that East Coast flavor. B-CIDE also has a feature with the infamous and controversial West Coast Bay Area Horrorcore rapper MARS which is sure to leave an impact a listener will not soon forget. Adding a little R&B flavor to the album is EastSide Productions own JAMES MEENAN who really brings an amazing hook to the track I DON'T KNOW which is about a lost love of B-CIDE's.

Mako reviews B-Cide's Self Proclaimed King
author: Mako
1. Intro - Who needs an intro? Lets get this shit started.
2. The Self-Proclaimed King - Short and sweet track. Decent Beat. B starts the cd out in a good way. He is the self proclaimed King.
3. Stomp, Stomp feat GA - The beat is alright. Track is an alright track. Not one of my favorites. Didnt get into it at all. B brings a decent flow and style to this track. GA did an alright job.
4. Right Here feat Shysty - Dark shady beat to this track. Shysty shows you why he's featured alot on this track. Meshes damn well with B and they both do a damn good job in this track.
5. I Didn't Kill This Bitch - Nice cetchy beat and has a lil some thing that makes it stand out. Cide delievers a well very good track that show's he could switch over from rap to wicked shit. Very good some what of a story track.
6. Yall Came Here To Party - This track has a beat that I just love. Just wish I knew what it's from. B does a great job in this track. Definatly a good banger that makes ya wanna move.
7. You Know You Want In feat Shysty & X-Kal - Beat is alright. Good collab track with both Shysty and Kal. Chorus is one that'll get ya singing along. "You gotta shake yo ass to make that cash and quite all your bitchin."
8. Them Boys Don't Like Me feat GA & R. Dollaz - Track starts out with a beat that I happen to like very much. B brings the fire with some of his flows in this track. Collabs pull their weight and turn out a very good track
9. This Ain't Nothin To Me - Good beat and tempo to this track. B writes and raps about alot of shit that pisses me off and that's wrong with alot of shit on this dirtball. Definatly one of my favorite tracks.
10. That's Life - Very good mellow beat too this track. B has another track that I happen to like with the lyrical content. Lots of personal experience and pain put into this track.
11. Quit Your Yappin - Track starts with an okay beat too it. Track has a good tone to it and is pretty much aimed at shit talka's that talk aboot what they dont know.
12. The Media feat MARS - Great smooth beat to it. From B's verse to Mars's. I'm no big of Mars but he definatly did a great job in this track. It's a great song with deep meaning too it. How the media places blame on music artist's for stupid shit.
13. Do You Know What It's Like? - Decent beat too this track. Nice delivery and good flow. Very well rounded track. Do you know what's it like for a day in the life of B Cide?
14. We Are The Voice feat Shysty - Nice head moving beat with a haunting organ in the back ground. This is by far one of my favorite tracks on this cd. Shysty and Cide team up very well and put together one hell of a track with a hint of Political underlying meaning too this track.
15. My Life's Fucked Up (Part II) - Was kinda torn before I heard this track. I'm not one that like's remakes or covers and I thought that's where this track was going. Then the beat came on that just blew me away and over all attitude of this track just rips it up. Same hook as the one on the mixtape but this track is by far better then that one.
16. I Don't Know feat James Meenan - Nice mellow track. The beat I feel fell a bit short but it's still a slow smooth beat. Nice meaning too the track that I'm sure everyone could relate too. "Close my eyes and look back, I can still see you in my arms"
17. Get Outside feat Shysty - Shysty and B team up in another kick ass track. Gritty Hitting beat that I like. This is a track I definatly can see a Mosh Pit starting and going hardcore too.
18. People Follow Me feat Shysty - Deep Bass Line, Nice String line to the beat. Once again you hear how well Shysty and Cide team up well and make damn good bangers. Cide has one of the best flows in this track. Altho both bring the speed in this track.
19. My Life - I like the piano and violin in the beat. Definatly fits the track as B opens up and talks about the Strugles of a Single Mother. Very touching and I'm sure some of us can definatly relate to heartache and hurt and strugles that's talked aboot in this track.
20. Outro - Shysty and B ending the cd with a nice ending bullshitting with us and dropping what they have in store for us.
21. Chronic Killaz (FREE BONUS TRACK) - Exclusive track from Shysty and Cide's group. CKC. Nice dark vibe and beat. Love the woman that drops her vocals for the Hook. Shysty and Cide bring the dark hard hitting shit that we all love and enjoy. Murder Music at it's Best.
22. 30 Bars (FREE BONUS TRACK) - Nice beat to this track. Cide delivers a good flow and turned out a good track.
23. The Mainstream (FREE BONUS TRACK) - Didnt really care for this beat. Seemed like it was lackin a bit some thing. Cide delivers a flow too this track and it's very cetchy. Would the mainstream handle someone that stays true to himself?
Over all this cd is damn good. Good flows, great beats and tracks that just stand out that makes this cd shine. Media and Life's fucked Up are by far my favs on this cd. Damn good collabs with Shysty and the woman that does the hook in one of the tracks.
Downside. There's a couple tracks that I thought were lacking a lil some thing.
If you like good underground Rap mixxed with club bangers and dark hard hitting wicked shit style tracks. This is a cd for you. Very well balanced.
Score = 7.5 ... only cuz of the few tracks that are lacking a bit.

This may look like your average CD, but it isn't. It is the most original CD I have heard in the Millenium.(NO JOKE!!) B-Cide will blow up, so it would be a wise investment to get a copy of this.
