"TheSongOfTheDay.com - One band. One year. 365 songs."
January, 2007. This is where it all started. It's cold outside, snow is on the ground, and Beatnik Turtle is in the studio, working hard to kick off their challenge to release 365 songs in one year.
January contains the first 31 tracks that would make up 1/12 of Beatnik Turtle's output for 2007. With 365 slots to fill up, Beatnik Turtle cranked the creativity knob to "11" and filled the month with geek pop-rock goodness covering everything from kinky sex ("I Didn't Know She Was Into That") to the housing crisis ("The Housing Bubble") and everything in between.
Just some of the stand outs from January include:
"How Did I Google This?" - the rock anthem celebrating the rich underbelly of the Internet.
"Under The Radar" - the white-collar ode to phoning it in at work.
"Going Commando" - the cosmic paean to non-conformity and individuality.
"No Night Stand" - the would-be dance club hit about being better off with your hand.
"Traffic Cones" - the one-and-only ballad to vulcanized rubber we know of.
And many, many more.
January also contains the song that started it all, "The Song Of The Day Dot Com" which would become TheSongOfTheDay.com's opening theme for all 364 songs that would follow.
Collect all 12 albums and enjoy Beatnik Turtle's amazingly rich and creative year of song-writing.
