Long time jazz aficionado and blues historian Chuck Beattie fronts this five-piece Chicago-Style Blues band. Formed in 1999 as a traditional Blues Band, the band features a Chicago-Styled Blues that seems to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Dr. Blues insists, "The music must come first!" My dream was a versatile blues band with hard working musicians who loved the music and could leave their egos at home."

Select members of Asheville's blues players round out the sound of the blues behind Beattie's commanding voice with a guitar, drums, bass and keyboard rhythm section that does the slow burn as good as the boogie.

Having worked extensively in the USA, Chuck, backed by selected UK musicians, Chuck recently brought the house down in June 2003 headlining the 3rd Bury Blues Festival near Manchester England.

During a long musical career, Chuck has shared the stage with the Kelly Brothers, Otis Clay, and Neenna Freelon and counts the mighty Taj Mahal and the legendary Bo Diddley amongst his friends and associates.

From juke joints to ballrooms they have a good time and welcome you to join them.
