Paul's schizophrenic guitar sound veers between distorted and hypnotic while Marti's vocal style truly fulfills Eric Satie's wish for a singing "nightingale with a toothache".
Marti and Paul first collaborated in the Blacklips Performance Cult (with Antony of Antony and the Johnsons) playing late-night shows at New York's Pyramid Club.
Beaut have performed at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Basel, Switzerland. They've also toured Germany, opening for Genesis P-Orridge, as part of "A Candy Cabaret".
The "coke" songs were recorded at Coyote Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and mixed by Scott Hollingsworth (of World/Inferno Friendship Society).
