A Stranger to Tears – The Beauty of Gemina have reappeared from the gloomy depths to launch their second album.
The charismatic singer-songwriter Michael Sele´s and his band member´s trail in the second long-playing album once again leads through tenebrous, rock-loaded realms and hypnotic-technoid musical worlds welded from dark-rock, wave, gothic, industrial and electro. Mastermind Michael Sele consistently and powerfully pursues the cut path of the internationally acclaimed debut album, which appeared at the beginning of 2007. Again his unique and expressive voice hovers impressively over the acherontic songs of the sequel album.

The instrumental implementation in “A Stranger to Tears” is even more forceful and guitar driven, the band leader´s voice more distinct and unmistakable. This is the reason why the four members-drafted project juts out among its genre without losing its identity. From the first to the last track there appears no doubt about the fact that Michael Sele lives his songs thoroughly. This is what makes them genuine and this is why the band´s international success hasn´t come about surprisingly. In fact the band has already toured throughout the U.K., Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland, supporting Smashing Pumpkins at the Hallenstadion Zurich, Switzerland´s biggest concert hall, and has shot up to number 1 of the Gothic Global Charts.

What is refreshing in “A Stranger to Tears” is The Beauty of Gemina´s mixture of obscurely pervaded, monotonous hammering beats, blurred intonations, almost epically elongated sound compilations as well as surprising changes of rhythm and rock sound elements. The CD is captivating because of its dance floor compatibility as well as its spherical sounds accompanied by cavernous bass lines, which become more and more engraved while listening. Repetitive sounds keep capturing you relentlessly, thus creating the unique, unmistakable Gemina sound. Michael Sele´s lyrics depict a world full of pain, desperation, loneliness and redemption without appearing helplessly lost. Between the lines you can sense a great deal of longing, which penetrates your very soul in all of the 16 new tracks.

Die Spur des charismatischen Frontmannes Michael Sele und seinen drei Bandmitgliedern führt auch im zweiten Longplayer durch düster-rockige Gefilde und hypnotisch-technoide Soundwelten aus Dark-Rock, Wave, Gothic, Industrial und Electro. Konsequent und kraftvoll setzt Mastermind Sele den Weg des international viel beachteten Debütalbums „Diary of a Lost“ fort, das Anfang 2007 erschien. Die einzigartige und ausdrucksstarke Stimme von Michael Sele schwebt auch im Nachfolger-Werk eindrucksvoll über den düsteren Songs. Noch kräftiger und gitarrenlastiger klingt die Instrumentierung in „A Stranger to Tears“, noch ausgeprägter der unverwechselbare Gesang des Band-Leaders. Dadurch hebt sich das als Vier-Mann-Band konzipierte Projekt auch innerhalb des Genres ab, ohne dabei an Identität zu verlieren. Von der ersten bis zur letzten Nummer ist spürbar, dass Michael Sele seine Songs lebt. Das macht sie authentisch. Nicht zuletzt deshalb ist der Band auch internationalen Erfolg beschieden, so tourte die Band im letzten Jahr durch England, Deutschland, Holland und die Schweiz, spielte im Vorprogramm der Smashing Pumpkins in der grössten Schweizer Konzerthalle und landete einen Nummer 1 Hit in den Gothic Global Charts.

The Beauty of Gemina erfrischen in A Stranger to Tears durch ihre Mischung aus düster durchzogenen monoton-hämmernden Beats, verzerrten Intonationen, epochal anmutenden Soundstrecken sowie überraschenden Rhythmuswechsel und Rockelementen. Die CD besticht durch ihre Dancefloortauglichkeit aber auch durch ihre sphärischen Klänge mit tiefen Bassläufen, die sich intensiv beim Hören einprägen. Repetitive Sounds nehmen ein, wollen nicht mehr loslassen und bilden so den einzigartigen, unverwechselbaren „Gemina-Sound. Michael Seles Texte zeigen eine Welt voller Schmerz, Verzweiflung, Einsamkeit und Erlösung auf, ohne dabei hoffnungslos und verloren zu wirken. Zwischen den Zeilen ist die große Sehnsucht spürbar, die in den 16 neuen Songs bis tief in die Seele vordringt.
