Album Notes

Having quickly become one of the top BLUES acts performing in The Great Pacific Northwest, Becki Sue & her Big Rockin' Daddies! commands attention by "bringing it" to each and every show... and, yes, the exclamation point is part of the band name.

The music on this CD, captured "live" at The Seattle Drum School's recording studio that also contains a small, 60 to 70-seat concert theatre called The Little Auditorium in Back (The L.A.B.), showcases the multi-talented aspects of the band; from Becki Sue's sassy, "in-your-face" vocal delivery; to Tom "T-Boy Neal" Boyle's Washington Blues Society award-winning (2003, 2005 and 2006) Texas & Chicago-style "blast furnace" electric guitar work; to Jim King's awesome "triple threat" tenor sax/blues harp/vocal combination; to Les "WildChild" White's (upright all night bass) & Jeff Hayes' (drums) "nailed-to-the-floor" rhythm section work.

The band has received several regional blues awards and nominations, including being the ONLY band to be nominated by both The Washington Blues Society and The Seattle Weekly Newspaper in their respective "Best Blues Band" categories for 2005.

In 2006 the band was nominated for a record 15 "Best of the Blues" (BB) Awards by The Washington Blues Society, managing to win in five categories during the recent awards finals. Those awards include "Best Electric Guitar" (Tom "T-Boy Neal" Boyle); "Best Blues Horn" (saxman Jim King); "Best Bass" (upright specialist Les White); "Keeping the Blues Alive" (drummer Jeff Hayes); and most importantly, "BEST BLUES BAND of 2006"! The "Best Band" award earns Becki Sue & her Big Rockin' Daddies! a spot at the Blues Foundation's 23rd Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis in February of 2007, representing The Washington Blues Society!

First, you guys are great. I love Becki Sue's sound. Love the harp and sax. Being a professional harp player, I can appreciate your distinctive sound. Hope you're working on a new CD I can add to my other two.

Strange cover, great music

I've got both of their cds, and both are great. If this was a live take, they are very tight and truly a band that knows how to play together. Can't wait for a live show at the Highway 99 in Seattle.
