Album Notes

Go Man Go is a re- Mix project based on my solo cd Van Go Gan...armed w/ the original masters, friends such as Bobby Woods of Les Deux Love Orchestra, Andrew Gold & Steve Levine of Culture Club fame twisted turned & tortured the tapes until happy with the results. Others are too. Listen & decide for yourself.

Go man Go is a fabulous remix!

As much as I love Van Go Gan, I prefer and LOVE Go Man Go even more. This CD is always in constant rotation in my player, and I'd be upset and go through withdrawals if I ever lost this CD, or if it was unavailable and was out of stock. I bought them both at the same time and was thrilled to listen to, and own two fabulous albums at once. Go Man Go is an amazing and incredibly interesting re-mix of the gorgeous ballads, instrumentals and other "pop" songs from Van Go Gan. When I bought this CD I wasn't quite sure what to expect after listening to the amazing Van Go Gan but this album is a real gem, a masterpiece and an excellent "one of a kind" production. Gerry's talented friends and colleagues such as Bobby Woods and the others mentioned above... produced and delivered a brilliant and "sporty" remix of Gerry's first solo album/cd. I prefer the re-mixes here of Van Go Gan, House Of Cards, Goodbye Highway, Sunrise Sunset, and Kiss of Life than the originals found on Gerry's first solo album. Gliss (Just Gliss) one of the instrumentals... is glossy and shines & shimmers and is just a real gem. The instrumentals are all very soothing, and they've also added in some interesting Scottish Bagpipes or Fife & Drum Corps into the mix on "Van Go Gan" which was an interesting surprise, but it works well. Just like Gerry's two other albums... each & every song is well-crafted, interestingly arranged, and sung & performed with unique & beautiful vocals. "Kiss of Life" as a re-mix is just an amazingly beautiful track and is so interesting tweaked with the re-mix and studio trickery added to it. "I Need You" sounds so fresh and new and just sparkles as a remix here... that it's hard to believe it's 35 years old. It sounds like it was arranged & produced a few months ago or just last year. Go Man Go is another highly listenable and highly recommended album from Gerry Beckley! If you bought Van Go Gan - Go Man Go is a definite "must have" to any collection. Hopefully it'll become available again at some point, you won't be disappointed! I can only hope that Horizontal Fall could be a re-mix project at some point in the future, or at least some of the songs/tracks could be tweaked, twisted & turned from that brilliant album and then re-issued. I'd buy that one in a second too! 10 STARS!!

I'm OLD. I've been listening to Gerry Beckley and America since the very 1st Horse. The first time I heard "Sandman" I actually threw-up. The pictures on the HOMECOMING album had me dreaming of California all through my senior year of high school.I argue with people about the merits of America. THIS CD was like a gift from the cosmos for me. All of those great Beckley Harmonies and musical moves tweaked and saturated with studio trickery...it sounds so fresh, it's like discovering you had a long lost sibling.

As much as I love Van Go Gan, I couldn't imagine that Go Man Go could be as good...but I admit when I'm wrong! Clearly not a replacement for the original, but a definite 'must have' all the same! Save yourself the wait and just order both at the same time!!
