Album Notes

For over a decade, Becky has been a member of two of the most sought after New England dance bands, Wild Asparagus and Nightingale and with these groups, she has travelled the length and breadth of the U.S. and has made musical forays to England, France, Denmark, Canada, Hawaii and even Guatemala. While playing in dance halls has been her heritage, she has also worked with groups experimenting with new arrangement styles of traditional fiddle music aimed at concert audiences. This work has involved her in many recording projects, including her solo CD, Evergreen, released in 2001.

Evergreen includes music from Ireland, France, Scandinavia and Quebec and several original compositions from Keith Murphy tastefully arranged, exquisitely played . This CD is a perfect showcase for an incredible fiddler whose sound is marked with a distinctive combination of power and beauty. Becky has brought together her closest musical companions for this project - David Cantieni (flute and bombard), Jeremiah McLane (accordion), Bill Tomczak (clarinet), Benedict Koehler (Irish pipes) and Keith Murphy (guitar, mandolin, piano, French Canadian foot percussion).

Some quotes from reviewers:
Sing Out magazine said, "Fiddler Tracy provides the most exciting moments(of Nightingale's CD, The Coming Dawn). She has wonderful lift, drive and scrape to her playing; she's not afraid to take chances and they always pay off. Her slow airs and song accompaniments are smooth, soothing and beautifully phrased."

Singaround publication: "Becky is a breathtaking fiddler."

Dirty Linen: "Tracy's light and flying fiddle...."
