Garnering national media attention as a sophisticated alternative to teen pop musicians, 22-year-old Tamara Bedricky burst onto the national music scene in 2002. Bedricky outperformed more than 1,900 singer-songwriters to be named one of five finalists in the second annual Pantene Pro-Voice, a national competition that showcases up-and-coming female artist. Sharing the stage along side Michelle Branch and M2M, she performed her nominated song, "A Million Miles" in New York's Central Park in front of more than 4,000 people.
"A Million Miles" shows how much I've matured as a songwriter in such a short period of time," explains Bedricky. "It moves away from current musical trends, and highlights what's important--the marriage of music and lyrics." Expressing her personal thoughts on distance and loneliness, the remarkable musical craftsmanship and passionate lyrics of A Million Miles resonates with listeners. "It doesn't need all the bells and whistles to make it sound good. It stands on its own. The strength lies in the lyric and melody."
Bedricky is regarded as one of the country's hottest, up-and-coming artists. The young singer-songwriter began playing the guitar six years ago. Soon after, she began writing her own material. With the ability to poignantly express herself through original music, Bedricky draws inspiration from such artists as Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt and Amanda Marshall. "The intensity and rawness of Sheryl Crow and the passion and vocal dexterity of Amanda Marshall, have been launching pads for me to find my own voice," Bedricky explains. Critics agree, observing that her ultra-modern sound blends these influences to exhibit a unique, original style.
Matching her natural songwriting talent, Bedricky's performance work has ignited clubs and captivated audiences throughout Michigan and beyond. With her fan base ever growing, Bedricky recently performed in New York's Central Park and also at The Bitter End and The Living Room. "Performing solo, gives me the freedom to create in the moment," comments Bedricky. "When the audience sees the spontaneity, the place becomes electric."
"Playing solo helped me define my rhythm and style," explains Bedricky, "but now, with the support of a full band, my music sounds richer and the songs sound more complete. All the parts come together to make a greater whole."
Bedricky, based in Detroit, plans to tour the United States this year, particularly the Midwest and East Coast regions. Now that her EP is produced, she is working to finish her first full-length album and seeking to secure a record deal.

You feel her music, it touches inside
author: KC
Saw her on the Pantene Provoice and of all the 5 finalists her music makes you feel with her. The depth of where the lyrics come from , combined with the soul from her voice that she infuses into the words. Every song touches you deeply and you feel like you are going to the place where she is coming from inside.

I like all her songs on the CD - she has a very wide range. I have been playing her CD over and over . . .when I am driving to work I hate listening to DJ's so I listen to her. I can't wait to hear more of her.
