Beefbone Music

Beefbone earned the name in Detroit in the '70s.
Throughout the '80s Beefbone fronted L.A. bands The Butchers,
Joe Blow, and Parchman Farm. The Butchers played on the steps
of City Hall every weekend for a year ('87) to crowds of homeless people.
Beefbone teaches prison inmates in the San Francisco Bay area,
alternating with trips to the Mojave Desert.
Beefbone spent many years as a scenic artist in Hollywood.
As a Green Party candidate, Beefbone ran for the
California State Assembly in 2002.
Beefbone is the father of two children.
The Beefbone Music label superceded NotOwn Records
which has been issuing Indie product since 1984.

The Songs

1. “Criminalized” tells how a lot of guys end up in prison.
2. “Thank You Karl Marx” is a sincere tribute to Karl
for explaining how the economy works.
3. “Green Party Blues” is written from personal
experience with well-intentioned politicos.
4. “Plantation Planet” contains the word “goddamit.”
5. “OppressRepressSuppressDepress” verses are
composed of verbatim lines from television commercials.
6. “All They Hear” is a good ole protest song reflecting on
the conditions in the Middle East.
7. “Isn’t She Coming” is a question old dads ask about
the daughter who grew up and moved away.
8. “Missing Mom” is from the point of view of a boy
with parent problems.
9. “Haywire Moon” was written 25 years ago about a girl
who couldn’t get over her troubled childhood.
10. “Why Wait” is about seizing the moment.
