"ambitious, experimental yet seemingly influenced by other adventurous artists. And, oh yeah … with enough hooks to be memorable."

Jagged feedback wraps itself around the vocals of Dean Avants like barbed wire on "Race of the Rats," the opening track of The Beefeater Project's sophomore release, "Lo-Fi Resurrection of the American Underground. "It's a perfect, precise snapshot of the band's messy, wide-ranging influences; smears of psychedelia, late-Sixties stoner country and bluesy rock 'n' roll are evident throughout the song and indeed, the album. Avants (veteran of numerous local groups) and cohort J.B. Sullivan steadily ply their trade over the course of these 15 tracks, never forcing it or giving into irony --- earnest and spare to a fault, "Lo-Fi Resurrection" is a beautifully bleak, dense slice of metro-area genius

No microwave necessary, this album is HOT!!!
author: Nathan Siler/Panther of Trust Music
As instantly classic as a salisbury steak TV dinner, The Beefeater Project serves up another tasty musical meal. Right out of the gate, Avants and Sullivan serve up a gritty, rockin' anthem called "Race of the Rats" followed by a smooth country gravy of a song entitled, "Broken Man." There's plenty of Lo-Fi variety with rock and country on this album with a healthy dose of psychadelic mushroom topping. The lyrics are perfectly suited for the music, sometimes vague, sometimes overt. This reviewer first fell in love with the track, "Salty Dog" because it was his favorite drink, but upon listening, the arrangements, harmony, and drum beat were found to be quite soothing with an unexpected floozy saxaphone. This album is a well-balanced dinner. Enjoy!
