Before Dawn is a “Super hot DIY Duo who makes sexy, nerdy, dance music with heavy beats, rock guitars, experimental pop aesthetics and tons of bravery.”
Before Dawn delivers a show that is exciting from the moment they walk on the stage to the moment they exit, just by virtue of being themselves. It is no surprise to find out that this duo majored in theater, and in fact that is where Rob and Kate met.

Before Dawn bridges the gaps between synthesizer laden electro pop, guitar heavy rock and beat thumping club music. Call them electro, call them new wave call them infectious pop, it doesn’t matter, there is no way of getting around the fact that their stage show is 100% Rock and Roll! That’s right ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing the glorious return of the almighty guitar solo; but you don’t have to stop dancing to enjoy it!

Rob and Kate love to have fun with their audiences and admit that their shows are definitely tinged with comedy. Their showmanship and enthusiasm infects and captures crowds instantly. Audiences leave the venue after the show out of breath, covered in sweat and smiling from ear to ear. The two most common adjectives used when describing Before Dawn are “fresh” and “refreshing.” There is no doubt that Before Dawn is “different in a very good way.”

Before Dawn is somehow able to craft masterfully catchy pop songs with the aggressiveness of a heavy metal band while being highly experimental, and even building some of their own synthesizers. Though Before Dawn has never strived to model their sound after another band but rather be completely original and totally authentic, most frequently fans immediately draw comparisons to The Killers, The B52’s, and The Talking Heads. Despite being a duo, Before Dawn creates a massive wall of sound and provides a “mind blowing stadium sized performance in a small, convenient package.”

Before Dawn became the duo that it was always meant to be four days before their first tour to the Northeast in November of 2006. They haven’t looked back since. Rob and Kate base themselves out of Austin Texas and have toured to New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Toronto as well as a hand full of cities in Florida all while continuing to thrill audiences around Central Texas. As the buzz continues to grow the momentum of this touring machine will not slow down any time soon.
