Album Notes

BEHAN gives traditional Irish pub singing tunes "a rousing, kicked-up spin". This "Wall of MaleVoice Quintet" is made up of brothers Bernard "Barney" (guitar & mandolin), Michael (pennywhistle, concertina & fiddle), and Joseph (bodhran & harmonica) Behan along with brother-in-law Joe Morris (bodhran & snare) and grade school buddy Russ George (guitar & bodhran). BEHAN's influences include The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, The Irish Rovers, DFW's own Irish Rogues, Bing Crosby and daddy Behan's predilection to inundate their young ears with the jigs reels and barndances of the 78 player variety. Somehow the punk music scene, liturgical music and the Arlington Drum and Bugle corp factor in as well.

What others have said:

"Behan go Bragh, I rate them a ten of ten, good beat!"

"They do a good boogie and a darn smart celtic thing!"

"They're nice, well mannered boys who give the trad Irish pub songs and tunes a mean kicked-up spin"

Very, very good! I love it!

I heard Behan live at the North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas, loved their performance, and regretted it when I did not purchase a copy of their CD there. It was all that I hoped it would be! Keep up the good work, boys! Keep good old Irish music out there!
