Behavior is one of several projects fronted by
producer/composer Michael A. McCann. The debut LP,
"The Story of the Mechanical Man" (2001) is a sonic
tour de force which showcases a full range of
electronic music. From jazz-fusion to trip-hop and
trance, the album is a rich mélange of sounds,
textures and moods. "The Story of the Mechanical Man"
represents a dynamic fusion of analog and digital,
electric and acoustic, human and mechanical. The
result of Behavior's experimentation is a complex and
unique musical experience.

Behavior's frontman Michael McCann wrote
and produced "The Story of the Mechanical Man" as a
concept album. The LP features several collaborations
with Andrea Revel and samples from the Cowboy Junkies
and David Axelrod. In addition to fronting Behavior,
McCann is also a composer, sound-designer and music editor for film, tv and games. His work has resulted in numerous awards including 2 Genie nominations (for It's All Gone Pete Tong Tong), a "Best Original Score" nomination from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (for Splinter Cell: Double Agent), and an IGN "Best Original Score of 2006" award for Double Agent as well.

Deserve to be knwon.....
I discovered Behavior thanks to Regenesis series; more especially with the track "anywhere X". You can feel many influences from trip hop bands, electronic music .... Not easy to get the CD in France ! Thank you CD Baby ....

One of my favourites right now
This album is one of my favourites right now. I really like when disharmony is mixed with harmony, and that is very well performed in some of the songs, especially "Anywhere but here". Really great work – I’m looking forward to their next album.

This is excellent electronic music ...
Creating an ethereal soundscape is something that [Behavior] has mastered on [his] debut LP "The Story Of Mechanical Man". This is excellent electronic music with soothing female backing vocals at times and instrumental bliss at others. I am tempted to call "The Story Of Mechanical Man" drum and bass, but hesitate because the album is more than that. It is definitely ambient though. What this CD is is an excellent CD for those moments when you simply need to disappear from the rest of the world and hide in your own little abode. It seems as if this record is made for headphones as it is at its best when it is the only thing with access to your mind. It would be nice to hear a little bit more variety throughout this album, but that is a complaint that I have with almost every techno CD I have heard to date. Comparable to newer Faith Massive, Behavior has created an excellent CD to relax, study to, or even fall asleep to.

Whether producing, writing or performing, Behavior's definitely got the goods.
Mmm, mmm. Dig the jazzy feel to this track. 'Anywhere But Here' from Behavior has got a great acid-jazz type vibe to it. The drum line to this track is what grabbed me right from the get-go. Then the sultry female vocal comes in over the top of it to seal the deal. It's kind of along the lines of a DJ Shadow track or something from U.N.K.L.E.
Behavior is the brainchild of Michael McCann. Michael also produced another one of our artists, Andrea Revel, runs his own label and fronts another band called Suture. All-in-all he's working the scene from every angle trying to make things happen. I, for one, am really impressed with the music that he's turning out both for himself and for the artists that he's working with. Although that is somewhat obvious since he is now the first artist to have direct ties to two different tracks on GT. So congrats to Michael for that.

Stirs the soul
It's fantastic music game I have heard. I listen to it a lot and since my computer dose not support the game, I only have the chance to listen to the music and it's really great. Thank you Michael and best wishes.

Mind blowing!
I am not a musician or a music buff so I couldn't tell you about all the different music influences this cd has ( electonic, jazz, ambient ) what I CAN tell you is that I was introduced to Behaviour by the song on the opening credits of ReGenesis (Anywhere but here) and I fell in love with the music. The cd is incredible, the music is mind blowing and every single track is a trip.....
I would reccommend this cd to anyone, doesn't matter to what music they prefer.
