Mike Behrends, a "convincly wise-beyond-his-years folk-singer" has released his debut full-length New Feet, a "fine continuation of his soft-soled folk treading." With keyboardist Lance Owens and drummer Mike Grunder added to the studio ensemble, the three have arranged ten songs that span the folk/alt-country/Americana idiom, equipped with banjos, overdriven electric guitars, harmonicas, and guitar solos. Murder ballads, country songs, and reflections on love and religion comprise the songwriting on New Feet, allowing it to easily fit amongst collections of traditional folk songs as well as more contemporary indie artists.
