The Beladeans self-titled debut combines bompy-garage and sexy horns to create a raucous party album with catchy numbers that will bring the cup to your lips and the shakes to your hips. Capturing the Northwest 60’s sound embodied by the Sonics and the Wailers, the Beladeans first album is a triumphant debut. The guitar varies from crunchy-fuzz to sweet-twangy leads and the saxophone and trumpet come to the forefront enough to create a combination that is at once completely unlike your standard bass-guitar-drums combo and at the same time so catchy and familiar that you’ll be singing along at by the end of the album. Two instrumental tracks “Sticky” and “Mysteries of the East” really shine, the latter being the perfect track for any snake-charmer. The vocal stylings and the rhythm keep everything on the upbeat with lyrics to make you chuckle.
