Great blues-influenced swing jazz from a strong band
author: George Hasapidis
This CD has almost an hour of great, original music by a very talented swing band out of eastern Massachusetts. As usual, all the songs have been written by "The Professor" Doug Bell with some help from his bandmates. While the songs are therefore new and fresh, they are definitely in the swing tradition with a strong blues sound on many of the numbers. The instrumentation and vocals are excellent and exhibit (to my admittedly untrained ears) good range.
