~ Review by Ron Rudin for Innerchange Magazine
June/July 2007
Grateful Day is a stirring and meditative compilation of 17 instrumental songs which feature the piano played by Beloved. The music represents the experience of spiritual experience, harmony with nature, and unfolding journey. Grateful Day gives me the feeling of a movie soundtrack that presents an inspiring visual landscape, but then I realize it is the soundtrack to Beloved’s Life. In addition to piano, you will hear a world class performance on guitars, bass, bouzooki, tamboura, sarod, synthesizer, shakuhachi, and percussion by Richard Raven Williams. Silver flute is played by Gary Cooper. The music style is a blend of classical and new age influences. There is a surprising versatility in the instrumentation and uniqueness of each track, considering how well united they are in a single minded expression of inner peace and love.
“Passionate Words” (Track 7) reminds me of the music that might be put to Leonard Cohen lyrics. If you like to read poetry, Beloved’s music will help you go deeper with the words. This is not music with showiness or an attempt to be overly dramatic. It gives the listener freedom to be present in the depths of the moment.
About “On The Bridge Of Our Love” Beloved writes: “I encourage you to close your eyes, visualize a bridge in a beautiful garden and see your loved ones smiling as you meet them with an open heart. Love may change shape, yet love is the truth that lives forever.” The music flows joyfully from track to track with a quality that is eternal.
Beloved lives in Mt. Shasta, CA and it is one of her greatest passions to share her healing music with others. She previously lived in Durham, N.C. and was also known as Kim Spalding. Grateful Day will serve well as background music, massage accompaniment, with meditation, and along side other healing practices. ~Ron Rudin

I love this CD. I listen to it daily, while providing massage to the clients at the spa where I work. I also have my own copy and decided to give this CD to 7 members of my family this past holiday season. Everyone has been "Grateful" and so am I. Thank you, Beloved, for providing such beautiful heartfelt music. It lifts my spirit and relaxes me and my clients each time we hear it. M. Cannata, Spa Manager, Massage Therapist, Artist
CD Notes:
Grateful Day
When starting this project, I wanted to record a CD of my instrumental music. A few of the songs I chose for this compilation do have lyrics, and they may be shared in fullness on another CD someday. I arranged the tracks on this CD in the order I felt guided to. As I looked at the final arrangement, I noticed that the titles to the tracks all lined up nicely and in proper order as the events of a day; from Dolphin Sunrise, to Ribbon Sunset, to Dreamtime Mist and Into the Deep. And, before I could even pose the question in my mind, immediately from my heart, came the answer, “Grateful Day”.
Dolphin Sunrise
As I received this song, in my inner vision was a beautiful sunrise over the ocean and dolphins frolicking in the water. Their joy as they leapt and bounded across the water felt exhilarating!
On the Bridge of Our Love
This song is a gift from Spirit to those who are missing or longing for someone. It was presented to me with the understanding that we can create a bridge and meet whomever we feel separate from on it any time we like, if we just hold sacred the truth of the love we shared with them in our heart. I encourage you to close your eyes, visualize a bridge in a beautiful garden and see your loved one smiling as you meet them there with an open heart. Love may change shape, yet love is the truth that lives forever.
Into the Deep (The Whale Song)
In June 2004, just as I was leaving Peru, I found an amazing crystal in a little shop. I carried it home in my lap like a proud mother and placed it under an orchid in my music room. This beautiful crystal changed the energy in the room. As I would play, the dolphins and whales began showing up in my music and I would feel and “see” them in the room. The orchid bloomed continuously throughout the year.
In the Spring of 2005, while giving a channeling session to a client in NC, I was guided to give her this crystal to drop off Orcas Island in Washington. The guidance was that it would benefit the dolphins and whales and that it needed to be done during the first dew days of June. As she shared her guidance with friends, they, too, felt guided to accompany her on her mission. Several of them traveled across country and on June 3rd, they went out on the boat. The captain informed them that 2 of the 3 whale pods had just returned the evening before. The whales surrounded the boat, and my friend said they all became overwhelmed with the feeling of love and gratitude from the whales. They were all moved to tears and dropped the crystal in the water with great love in their hearts.
We found out later that the day before, in Australia, 75 false killer whales (really a species of dolphin that look like whales) had beached themselves, and the day the crystal was dropped, all but one returned to the ocean (thanks to the efforts of many rescue workers).
to the efforts of many rescue workers.
As I received this song, through my subtle awareness, I felt and saw whales swimming in circles deep in the ocean- under my piano. They seemed to be stirring the consciousness of humanity. As the song ended, they would swim out into the deep…
