Ben Aronov : Pianiste de jazz installé recemment en france, veritable encyclopédie vivante de l’histoire du Jazz de ces cinquante dernières années. Et ce, depuis ses débuts californiens au sein des « Lighthouse All-Stars » d’Howard Rumsey, puis via ses rencontres avec Charlie Haden, Ornette Coleman, Gary Peacock, Jim Hall, Zoot Sims, Lee Konitz, Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Ken Peplowsky, Phil Woods et quelques autres de même envergure.
Sans omettre son travail d’accompagnateur de Liza Minnelli, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne et Astrud Gilberto.
Ajoutons à cela , rien moins que négligeable, une discographie de sideman assez conséquente et une poignée d’albums personnels plus que réussis (mais peu diffusés chez nous, donc des collectors).
Tous ces ingrédients résument sommairement l’itinéraire exemplaire d’un pianiste de haut vol, d’un vrai pianiste de Jazz. Dépositaire d’un héritage somptueux qui, de Teddy Wilson à Bill Evans, illumine l’histoire du piano Jazz.
