Album Notes

Ben Cardenas is a musician who was broken into the Texas music scene performing alongside such San Antonio music icons as Tyler Phillips and Will Owen-Gage. He has composed and performed everything from film scores to orchestra pieces, and his debut solo album, "Primordial Soup", is a journey into the center of everything that is intelligent, melodic, and just plain heavy.

On the surface, "Primordial Soup" is a collection of eleven dynamic, powerful, and equally thoughtful songs that can all be enjoyed on their own. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the songs have the most power when viewed as a part of the album as a whole. "Primordial Soup" cries out to be heard from top to bottom, and more than once. The deeper you immerse yourself in the album, the more you will realize what "Primordial Soup" is all about... so dig in.

And prime numbers.

This CD changed my view of the rock music. They were playing Primordial Soup in one of the Redneck bars in west Texas. I couldn't believe that those Cowboys were really enjoying the rock music. I bought the CD from the bartender for $10. I can't wait for his next CD. Great Job Ben Cardenas. You Rock!!!

complex signatures and concepts....a highly interesting sound that should catch on...sales should multiply...the writers should follow this with another set just as fresh and developed but avoid monotony.

I was told to listen to this CD because it is awesome. I was hesistant because I really am not into this type of music. The first time through, I wasn't so sure, but I gave it a second listen and was hooked. I am going to add it to my must have list for my morning drive.
