Back in the late 80's, Bench was doing a different type of music. While most bands doing experimental/weird music may have been dabbling with distortion, Bench was embracing it. They mixed metal and psych rock. Back then it was called weird. But in the last decade or so, it has become known as STONER ROCK. Bench have been cited as one of the first of the stoner rock bands along with the likes of Monster Magnet and The Thing. They sold over 5000 copies of two singles on the Noiseville label. While those 7" singles were finding their way into record collections around the world, Bench were producing home recorded cassettes and selling them at shows. These tapes now sell for upwards of $75 on Ebay, but now, for the first time, Noiseville is proud to make them available on CD. This is the 1st in a series of 4 CDs of those rare Bench cassettes. Get on board!

NYC shows
author: TomTHall
Saw these guys play a show at the Spiral in NYC a million years ago, and the current music scene has still not caught up. Rumor was they were to loud to play CBGB. Sill have a couple of their cassettes some place, hope they release the rest on CD so I can nab them.
