Cool band, awesome music

I loved this album! I've been to a few of Bend's gigs in New York and they rocked. Their sound is really tight and the guys are really talented musicians...all compounded by the fact that the songs are brilliant. I'm not going to lie and say that I "get" all the lyrics--instead of telling a narrative story like Ben Folds for example, Bend's song lyrics play on imagery and emotion to convey a general idea--but I get a huge kick out of phrases like "just a crack in a sea of dirt". Right? OK, writing it down doesn't do it justice... but that's because the piano-rock sound and hard poppy tunes are Bend's true source of power, and you have to listen to love it :)
