Album Notes

The second full-length CD by The Benders, aptly named "The Benders - II", was recorded in the same fashion as the first: completed in one afternoon with no overdubs, second takes, or digital magic. Just straight ahead music with soaring harmonies and subtle hooks that keep you singing from the shower to the sack. The adept and prolific songwriting of Bow Thayer, Jabe Beyer, and Nolan McKelvey, coupled with the stellar lead playing of Tim Kelly and Sean Staples, provide an energy and sound unlike anything you've ever heard.

"The Who of bluegrass!" - Press Republican

"Bending of genres, mixing old-time string-band and bluegrass sounds with their rock background...the playing is fluid, the songs are warmed by substantial melodies, and the singing is a seductive focal point..." - No Depression

"Anything is bound to happen when The Benders take the stage." - Boston Sunday Globe

This is a fabulous album. If you're into bluegrass, it's a must! I heard the song "Can't Wait" at a bar my band was playing at in Boston, and loved it so much I had to get the album. It's a gem.
